Jose Mourinho's return to Real Madrid will shatter an already splintered squad with several senior players saying privately they will leave in the summer if he arrives.

Valladolid were the opponents for Solari's first league game in charge back in November when another rather flattering 2-0 victory set the team off on a run of eight wins from nine games.

After a disastrous week, Real Madrid will be aiming to bounce back strongly, when they face off against a struggling Real Valladolid outfit in matchweek 27 of the 2018-19 La Liga on Sunday.

Ramos has now been with Real Madrid for nearly 14 years, following his €27 million move from Sevilla way back in the summer of 2005.

Following their recent 4-1 humbling at home to Ajax, though, there will be no Champions League triumph to paper over the cracks this term.

Real Madrid coach Santiago Solari criticised Isco's fitness, seemingly revealing why the midfielder has been out of favour this season.

Mourinho is held in high esteem by under-fire Real Madrid President Florentino Perez, who has long harboured ambitions to bring the coach sacked by Manchester United last December back to the club he managed for three years from 2010.

And now it is certain that the Bernabeu outfit will have a new manager at the end of the season.

Madrid chose to play it cool when Ronaldo left for Juventus past year, not making any high-profile signings to make up for his absence. Instead, Solari will call upon youth-team players Seoane and Cristo.

Third-placed Real, who have only won two of their past six games, are 12 points behind leaders and champions Barcelona. "And those that haven't been, I have told them personally".

Some Real Madrid fans want to see Mourinho return after such a disappointing season - but will they still want him if it means potentially losing their talismanic captain?

"It was a very hard game after the week that we have had - to come here to such a hard stadium, against a team in this situation, and with us having so many injuries", he said. We need to go to work again tomorrow, to aim for three points next weekend, and try and catch up on the teams above us.
