This year's artists are still living comfortably with or without a paycheck from the NFL.
Yet during the halftime show itself, SpongeBob fans everywhere were left disappointed. Justin Timberlake headlined the show previous year with minimal fuss (aside from references to his "Nipplegate" involvement), and in 2017 Lady Gaga was the main attraction.
But for those of us who tuned into the halftime show to watch it anyway, we were given a great surprise. To make matters worse, after performing "Sugar", Maroon 5 concluded their set with "Moves Like Jagger", which has to be one of their most obnoxious songs of all-time; moreover, Levine took off his shirt during that song, which was completely unnecessary. "I know it must sound like a privilege ass sacrifice but it's all i got", in an Instagram caption in October.
"No one thought about it more than I did".
SpongeBob Squarepants made his debut during the 2019 Super Bowl Halftime Show after a viral campaign from fans. After a series of rejections, they secured two. SpongeBob and Squidward rocked up in their band uniforms to introduce a "true musical genius" but instead of the introduction going on to see SpongeBob perform "Sweet Victory", Travis Scott popped out of nowhere for his performance of "Sicko Mode". This would seem to be a hazard of the venue, one that a performer could prepare for with less explicit lyrics.

Backed by his 2006 single "I'm On It (Kryptonite)", hometown legend Big Boi then drove onto the stage in an antique convertible Cadillac while wearing a mink jacket. Damn you NFL!' / 'You promised these people Sweet Victory, but all I saw was... Please, he pleaded with his terrified eyes, I'm a hot guy! National Football League fans had to sit through a tiresome halftime performance, then watch the Rams and Patriots fall over themselves in a Super Bowl debacle that felt more like torture than anything else. Even athletes in different sports are having fun and engaging on social media during the game.
Adam Levine, Big Boi, and Sleepy Brown. And if the goal was to fill the space with a performance that was eminently unremarkable, they succeeded.
This news was revealed by Adam Levine himself who also happens to be the front - man of the band. And we thank our critics for always pushing us to do better.
