The Alabama Crimson Tide came out and blitzed the Oklahoma Sooners in Saturday's College Football Playoff semifinal encounter, beginning with a first quarter that could not have been more one-sided. "We knew what was coming, but it sucks that we didn't make the plays".

But that was before Murray led Oklahoma to a berth in the CFB and collected a Heisman trophy for his efforts along the way.

Murray finished with 308 passing yards, the most any passer has amassed vs Alabama since Deshaun Watson threw for 420 yards in the 2016-17 CFP title game.

"I feel like Kyler Murray is not...nah, I'm good". So, what time should you tune in?

"I think this is a testament to what this team has been doing the entire season", Tagovailoa said in a postgame interview on ESPN afterward.

All he could think about was the way the season ended. "It was fun. I mean, it was a heavy hitter just like we all expected", he said.

"He's got a very cool, calm demeanor about him and he's handled it extremely well", Gundy said. I wouldn't trade it for anything. "But for me, I'm not a satisfied guy, so for me, the highlight would be winning a national championship".

"We're not really satisfied. And man, we're so excited to have the opportunity to go to California and represent the ACC and play another great opponent".

Leading up to the College Football Playoff semifinal games on December 29, coaches and players have standard media availability to talk about the upcoming heavyweight bouts. You don't sit there and say we didn't get [it] done. Very good. So was Oklahoma (14-2). Christian Miller was taken to the locker room in the second half. "We've gotten a lot done here".

Murray trailed off before shrugging his shoulders. CeeDee Lamb was Murray's favorite receiver for eight catches and 109 yards, regularly getting the best of Tide freshman cornerback, Patrick Surtain.

"Not being 100 percent, it hurt me, but I was out there trying to fight for my team", Brown said.

"The slow start got us beat", Murray said.

Alabama hung 21 points on Oklahoma in the first quarter alone.

However, one person who seems decidedly unimpressed by Murray's athletic prowess is Alabama defensive tackle Quinnen Williams.

"I wanted to win a national championship and fell short", Murray said. "And I thought it took us a little bit longer to settle into this one than it normally does, and it's like we were just kind of waiting for that spark, and it just took longer". They made a run on us there early. That's how it felt to me there at the end of the third quarter.

Tagovailoa hurt his knee multiple times this season, to the point that he had to leave the field against Missouri, LSU and Mississippi State.

Riley, a potential National Football League coaching candidate, told reporters before the game he will stay in college. "It just makes me even hungrier to keep going what we've got going here". Although a decision about his future awaits, he was asked about his Oklahoma legacy. "I truly think he loves playing football". "I just hope everybody knows I never quit".
