DJI this week has announced a new type of pocket gimbal, and it's one that comes with the camera, so it's all put together for you.
DJI will ship the Osmo Pocket on December 15.
The camera shoots 12MP stills at video up to 4K at 60fps, allowing you to capture smooth cinematic shots on the fly.
The Osmo Pocket packs in built-in dual microphones and advanced noise-canceling algorithms. Like DJI's newest drones, the Osmo Pocket has some intelligent tracking features like ActiveTrack, which automatically follows moving subjects, and FaceTrack, which recognises faces and keeps them centered in the frame.
A closer look at DJI's Osmo Pocket camera
Chinese drone-maker DJI has begun showing off a tiny handheld gimbal-mounted camera which offers numerous advanced features used by its camera drones. As DJI fans can probably already tell by the name alone, the main feature here is stabilization, as the Osmo Pocket comes equipped with a 3-axis gimbal. Smartphones connect to it with a USB-C or Lightning adapter (both are included), or via Wi-Fi using an app called Mimo. DJI claims its battery is good enough to last up to two hours of 4K video recording at 30fps, which is better than GoPro Hero 7's battery life.
Extension Rod**- The Extension Rod attaches to the Lightning or USB-C port and provides 31 inches of reach to Osmo Pocket, opening a world of new creative angles that are normally hard or impossible to get.
It has automatic functions like NightShot (low-light, long-exposure), panorama, and Motionlapse, which takes the Timelapse function, and adds movement for "dramatic effect".
Do you think DJI did a great job with its Osmo Pocket?
Please note that Story Mode and D-Cinelike video will be available soon in a future app update.
Along with the OSMO Pocket, there will be a host of accessories, these include; Accessory Mount, Wireless Module, Controller Wheel, Expansion Kit, ND Filters Set, Waterproof Case, Extension Rod, Charging Case and 3.5mm Adapter.
