Hua's comments come after Verizon and AT&T dropped plans to sell a new Huawei handset amidst reported pressure from U.S. government officials. This is because he supposedly prefers it to his National Security Agency-approved device.
The officials said US spy agencies had learned from people in foreign governments and by intercepting communications from foreign officials that China and Russian Federation were listening to the president's calls.
The officials also told the Times that China is trying to use what it learns from the calls to keep a trade war with the us from escalating.
A list containing the names of these people are said to be used by China in an attempt to influence the president's thinking on matters important to the country, like the U.S.
Two men named in the report were businessmen Stephen A. Schwarzman and Steve Wynn, who both have dealings in China.
One of the two official phones is designated for calls.
Though a White House official assured Politico that Trump's "devices are more secure than any Obama-era devices", not everyone agrees. The officials said they were doing so not to undermine Trump, but out of frustration with what they considered the president's casual approach to electronic security.

Less than half-an-hour before he attributed the "Anger we see today in our society" to the "Fake News", Trump railed against the story in the Times. And that's to say nothing of his continued incitement of unhinged lunatics planting bombs all over New York City. "All in all, we, by this time, are treating such material with humor".
At least we can dream.
Meanwhile, reports claimed that the Trump administration was preparing to order up to 1,000 US troops to the US-Mexico border to deal with the more than 5,000-strong migrant caravan making its way towards the border.
