Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA) did not mince words after the Environmental Protection Agency head, Scott Pruitt, had resigned effective Friday. Nothing happened with that because Pruitt does the will of giant fossil fuel companies, which greatly pleases the people of West Virginia, which greatly pleases the president.

The progressive group Credo Action on Thursday celebrated news of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Scott Pruitt's resignation, saying his departure was a "victory for everyone who cares about the environment". That process could take months and potentially stretch past the November midterm elections.

Even conservative commentary Laura Ingraham tweeted this week about how swampy Pruitt is, calling for him to go. "I could have put my hat in the ring for the administrator".

Some of the hidden meetings reportedly ranged from coal industry CEO Joseph Craft and other industry executives, to Kellyanne Conway, to Cardinal George Pell, a Vatican official and climate change skeptic who weeks later was hit with sex crimes charges.

Mr. President, it has been an honor to serve you in the Cabinet as Administrator of the EPA. This was only the most recent effort, after previous emails revealed that Pruitt had asked another aide to help his wife land a business deal with the fast-food chain, Chick-fil-A. "Record clean Air & Water while saving USA Billions of Dollars".

"We have made tremendous progress and the future of the EPA is very bright!"

According to CNN, advisers dismissed the proposal, but Trump floated replacing Sessions with Pruitt as recently as April.

"Welcome, pulsating black sludge", Jackson responded. "It was just a question of what I was going to say". All tolerated because Trump liked his zealotry. Senate Environment and Public Works Chairman John Barrasso, a Wyoming Republican, began looking into reports that Pruitt had four EPA email addresses, at least one of which was not disclosed.

Mink told ABC News that she felt compelled to speak up, in part, because Pruitt's push for corporate deregulation felt "personal". Tom Carper of DE, long a vocal critic of Pruitt's.

Another day, another member of the Trump administration getting confronted in a restaurant.

Inhofe cheered Wheeler's arrival at the EPA earlier this year. The school, located in the District, is where former President Barack Obama's daughters attended. Trump then assigned Pruitt to roll back those rules.
