If you want to curb your kids' screen time or your own, you have an unlikely ally in the battle against phone addiction.

Apple CEO Tim Cook kicked off proceedings by announcing that it has paid out $100 billion to developers since the App Store's inception a decade ago.

Just like other pre-release versions of different operating systems, iOS 12 beta users should know that it is far from a stable experience. It is definitely a neat app for developers and while most of the features are kept the same, there ought to be several differences new features. Basically what Apple did is that when your phone is locked and the display is off, the ability to grab a screenshot has been disabled.

"We're very excited about the new communications features we're bringing to iPhone and iPad with Memoji, a more personal form of Animoji, fun camera effects and Group FaceTime", said Craig Federighi, Apple's senior vice president of Software Engineering.

Notifications, on the other hand, will be more interactive - for example, they will let you respond to reservations or pay for rides directly from within the Watch version of the app.

Users of Apple products will soon get a weekly report of how much time they truly spend on their phones, according to the latest developments at their annual WWDC Conference. This will allow the user to limit and maintain healthy viewing times by setting alarms and notifications.

When Downtime is turned on, notifications from apps will not appear and a badge will appear on apps that are not allowed to be used.

Do you think tech firms are working hard enough to limit our screen time? However, if you're not registered as an Apple developer, you will not be able to use it.

Group FaceTime calls are also being introduced with iOS 12.

Siri will also suggest that users turn off some notifications if the user hasn't opened the app in a while.

A new feature, Digital Health, aimed at helping people use their phones less often was also unveiled.

There are a lot of iOS 12 features that Apple didn't talk about on stage yesterday but are noteworthy.

Research has shown that 92% of U.S. teens go online daily, and 24% admit they're online "almost constantly".

Another new tool is called Suggestions, where Siri will prompt the user to take certain actions in iOS, such as order their favorite coffee that they drink every morning.
