Gaming expo E3 has kicked off in LA and it is one of the biggest game developers in the world, EA, who started things of with its keynote about what it plans to release this year.

Anthem, the newest game from Mass Effect and Dragon Age developer Bioware, was teased at E3 2014 and revealed properly at E3 previous year.

Battlefield V, developed by DICE, already had its own launch event but EA dropped another bombshell regarding the upcoming title of the popular franchise at E3. Not only did they show off a bit of new gameplay but we also got the release date as well. Players will wield an arsenal of Javelin exosuits, each equipped with unique weapons and abilities. Anthem is set to be released on February 19th 2019, and the game will be released for the XBOX One, the PlayStation 4 and the Windows PC. The game features content from the two Star Wars movies: The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. A new trailer will also be arriving on June 9, according to a recent tweet from Anthem's official Twitter account. Respawn's next game is planned to be open-world and single-player.

So, there's a reasonable chance you'll find yourself lumped together with at least one profoundly unpleasant troll if you're forced to rely on matchmaking for the majority of your time with Anthem. Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the final entry in Square Enix's origin trilogy, is out on September 14, so Square Enix is definitely going to make the game a big part of its press conference.

EA's Unravel Two: The new squeal to the Unravel game had caught all EA fans off guard and very much excited for the release. "However, we've put most of our effort into Javelin personalization".

Lead writer Cathleen Rootsart said the game was "designed so they could add more storylines" - describing how they wanted to build a game which changes every time you play.

While you can play solo, you will need an online connection to play.

Finally we get a proper look at Anthem, starting with a fist pumping trailer played to a remix of Uprising by Muse.

A lengthy Game Informer feature story makes the game sound mechanically and structurally quite similar to Destiny and Destiny 2, particularly its calls for co-op requirements to get through higher-level campaign challenges and raid-like "stronghold" battles, along with a greater emphasis on real-time action over RPG-style combat and decision-wheel storytelling.

Anthem Legions of Dawn Edition are preorderable for PS4 and Xbox One.
