The Kinect lives on through Microsoft's new project for Azure

At the second day of its Build developer conference, much of the talk centered around breaking down the walls between phones and PCs and unifying the Windows experience between PCs and smartphones on competing operating systems.

Microsoft is calling "Your Phone", "A new way to connect your phone to your PC with Windows 10 that enables instant access to text messages, photos and notifications". Allowing them to pick up and continue working on the same app from anywhere.

Microsoft has announced a partnership with DJI and Qualcomm where the world's largest drone maker will bring its own SDK to Windows 10, and use Azure as its preferred cloud provider.

There aren't many apps on either of these platforms at the moment, as they require UWPs.

During the demo, Microsoft used a prototype device that can recognize the person who is entering the room but more importantly, it can take a real-time transcription of what was being said during the meeting.

Microsoft doesn't want to slow down on pushing AR and VR into the enterprise space. By making that work across any platform it plays nice with - Windows, iOS or Android - it starts to become consistently useful to everyone. The company says the new Kinect will come with a package of sensors and the next-generation depth camera, designed for AI on the Edge.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced a new partnership between the company and Amazon to integrate the voice activated technology. This has put AI in a better light than other companies as of late thanks to recent scandals. We don't know the full extent of the differences just yet, but the app will begin rolling out to Windows Insiders fairly soon, so we should learn more about the differing limitations then. Microsoft Launcher on Android will also support Timeline for cross-device application launching. It means to foster enthusiasm for the company's latest ventures in internet-connected devices, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality.
