It is official. HMD Global, a Finish startup with rights to sell Nokia-branded mobile phones, today announced the launch of Nokia 7 Plus priced in India at Rs 25,999.

While Nokia 7 Plus will be available exclusively on Amazon and at Nokia Mobile stores, the Nokia 8 Sirocco model will be available exclusively on Flipkart and from select mobile outlets. Nokia has a 52 week low of $4.51 and a 52 week high of $6.65. Buyers will get no-cost EMIs on credit cards, Bajaj FinServ and Home Credit, while ICICI Bank cards will provide 5 percent cashback till May 31. You can pre-book this handset from 20 April onwards and will be available for purchase from 30 onwards. The smartphone is set to on sale in India starting April 30. Airtel customers buying the Nokia 8 Sirocco will be able to enjoy an additional data benefit of 120GB. Sadly, no OIS. It also sports a 16MP selfie camera.

Nokia 6 is the successor variant of the first Nokia 6 launched earlier a year ago. The internal storage capacity of the device is 64GB which can be expanded up to 256GB via microSD card. HMD isn't bringing the 64GB variant to India, at least for now.

In the optics department, The smartphone has a dual-camera system at the rear with a 12-megapixel primary camera and ZEISS optics. For selfies, it comes with a 16 Megapixel with ZEISS optics front camera. The fingerprint sensor, therefore, has been relocated to the rear beneath the camera. Though the Sirocco is a premium device, it has a merely 5-megapixel front camera and an older Snapdragon 835 chipset that make it incapable of challenging the iPhone X and Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus. The phone is inspired by the fancy Nokia 8800 Sirocco, which was released more than a decade ago in 2006. Built from single solid block of aluminium, the new Nokia 6 is offered in 3 colour options - Blue, Black Copper and Iron Gold. Nokia 7 Plus has some eye-catching features.

Nokia 6 2018 runs Android 8.0 Oreo has 2.5D display with damage-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass.

Performance too was not bad given it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor on-board, which is fairly new and can take the stress of multiple apps easily. So what is clear is that the 8 Sirocco means to appeal to fans with its design more than anything else.

Battery: 3800mAh battery with fast charging. Nokia's OZO triple-mic setup is also present here for audio recording. It comes in two colors - White/Copper and Black/Copper.

The Nokia 6 (2018) runs Android 8.0 Oreo, sports a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) IPS display complete with Gorilla Glass 5, and is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC, with 3GB or 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. Also, it supports wireless charging, not a niche feature anymore but a good-to-see feature.

For imaging this phone also boasts of Dual Rear cameras comprising of 12 MP primary camera with wide-angle lens, f/1.7 aperture and 13 MP secondary camera with Telephoto lens, f/2.6 aperture, Dual-tone flash and 2x optical zoom. The camera on Nokia 7 Plus also comes equipped with Zeiss optics, which reminds us of the early Nokia phones that supported Carl Zeiss lenses. The smartphone is backed by a 3000mAh battery with support for fast charging capabilities.
