Deepak Hooda and Shakib Al Hasan took Hyderabad past the 100-run mark but the Bangladesh all-rounder edged the ball onto the his stumps and he became Markande's fourth scalp of the day.

With their second win in as many matches, Hyderabad now top the IPL standings, edging ahead of the also unbeaten Chennai Super Kings on net run-rate. Mumbai Indians that went to bat first after losing the toss set the target 148 runs for Sun Risers Hyderabad.

Jasprit Bumrah and Mustafizur Rahman split the damage but it wasn't enough as Stanlake (5 not out) held his nerve to send the penultimate ball of the innings to the fence and secure the win. Wriddhiman Saha scored 22 runs in 20 balls including 3 fours.

Defending 147, Mumbai managed to get back into the match against Hyderabad courtesy repeated strikes made by Markande.

"One of those games that comes down to the wire". The surface was quite different to the last one we played on and we were a little slow to adapt. Hooda at the end was outstanding.

He's a great weapon for us. "Very impressive bowling performance". Sandeep bowled very nicely tonight. (We need to) make sure we come back strongly here. Howerver he admitted that such a close defeat in second match in a row is "tough to digest". "We know he's hard to pick, so if he just bowls that length and pace where he asks batsmen to make decisions, we know it's going to be hard for them and he's bamboozling very good players at the moment".

Commenting on young talent Mayank Markande and other youngsters, Rohit Sharma said that their performance is unbelievable.

Rashid feels a responsibility to the people of Afghanistan to do his best every time he goes out onto the park, saying sport is one of the few joys they have.

Add to it Rashid Khan's fast leg-breaks and googlies are still a mystery for most batsmen while Shakib Al Hasan with his orthodox left-arm spin is miserly on most days. That was the plan to bowl dot balls. Suryakumar Yadav and Krunal Pandya took the total to 72 before Pandya (15 off 10 balls) got out in 8.5 overs. Surprisingly, the rest of the batsmen continued to attack Markande, and in total Sunrisers attempted 11 attacking shots off him.

As he's in his stance, I can see where he's trying to hit.

While googly is his stock ball, it will be interesting to figure how well Markande can bowl his leg-breaks.

While one must allow Dinesh Karthik to settle into his role as captain, he must also realize the fact that this is a high intensity tournament where people scrutinize every move of a player!
