Cosby Trial Continues With Juror Who Reportedly Said Comedian Was 'Guilty'

For first time ever, the prosecution publicly said the 80-year-old Cosby paid his primary accuser $3.38 million in exchange for her silence about him allegedly drugging and sexually assaulted her.

Cosby's lawyers have claimed that he had a consensual sexual relationship with Constand, a former employee at Temple University, where Cosby was once a member of the Board of Trustees.

The demonstrator, Nicolle Rochelle, is a former actress who appeared on The Cosby Show as a child.

The allegations against Cosby stretch back more than a decade, but the trial takes place in a cultural moment vastly different from the one in which the first trial took place previous year.

Cosby's lawyers say her memories are tainted at best.

Cosby's first trial last spring ended in a hung jury.

The woman, identified by the District Attorney's office as Nicolle Rochelle, 39, of Little Falls, New Jersey, was taken down by police and handcuffed.

His retrial is now the most high-profile criminal case so far in a #MeToo world, the USA cultural watershed that has ruined the careers of a string of powerful men in Hollywood, politics and the media. "This practice happens to be one of the main tenets of the patriarchial system and Bill Cosby knows this particular practice well, wielding his power over the heads and bodies of women for decades and presently having the audacity to accuse his accusers of lying".

Lasha is one of five additional accusers who are being allowed to testify as part of the prosecution's effort to portray the entertainer formerly known as "America's Dad" as one of Hollywood's biggest predators. The case was settled confidentially in 2006 with a financial payment made by Cosby to Constand. She will tell you that she did not say "Yes". Rochelle added that personally she has not had any conflicts with Cosby during the filming.

According to reports, Rochelle, topless and covered in phrases like "Cosby Rapist" and 'Women's Live Matter, ' jumped across a police barricade and threw herself towards Bill Cosby as the actor and comedian was making his way towards the courthouse for his sexual assault retrial. The #MeToo movement caught fire four months after the first trial, raising awareness of sexual misconduct as it toppled Harvey Weinstein, Minnesota Sen.

Judge Steven O'Neill announced that he would interview the juror who claims to have overheard the remark, behind closed doors.

Ossorio, who is from New York City, said she organized the protest to get justice for Constand and other survivors.

Rochelle said she would not return to the Montgomery County Courthouse for any form of protest following Monday's demonstration. In this case, the jury will also be privy to the amount of money Cosby paid Constand when they originally settled the case. One woman and one man are African-American, the same makeup as the jury for the first trial.

The criminal filing came after a judge unsealed deposition testimony in which Cosby admitted he obtained seven prescriptions for Quaaludes in the 1970s so he could give the powerful drug to women he found sexually attractive.
