Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane, the English Premier League's joint top scorer, will have a scan to determine the severity of an ankle injury sustained in the 4-1 victory at Bournemouth.

Kane spent almost two months out between September and November 2016 with an injury to that right ankle before another two-and-a-half-week period out with the same issue between March and April 2017.

It was a much needed win for Spurs following their disappointing elimination in the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League to Juventus last Wednesday.

The England striker was substituted in the 34th minute after suffering a heavy blow on his ankle from Asmir Begovic as he turned home Christian Eriksen's cross from an offside position.

"I think it's a massive situation that you must learn [from]", Pochettino said, according to Sky Sports.

Adam Smith drove down the right-hand side before whipping in a unsafe cross which missed the attacking efforts of Callum Wilson but fell at the feet of Stanislas, who, after a controlling touch, blasted his half volley past Lloris to give the Cherries a deserved lead. Tottenham have allowed the third fewest goals in the Premier League this season and have kept clean sheets in their last three games. He is a great player and if it is a serious injury we will miss him.

The striker advanced to the edge of the Spurs box before squaring for Stanislas who lifted the ball over the advancing Hugo Lloris but his effort came back off the bar.

Mauricio Pochettino's Tottenham Hotspur won against Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday.

Son Heung-min's double and goals from Dele Alli and Serge Aurier saw Spurs run out 4-1 winners at Dean Court.

England global Kane limped off with just over half an hour played at the Vitality Stadium after sustaining an ankle problem while scoring an offside goal.

Junior Stanislas gave the Cherries the lead in just the seventh minute, but Dele Alli responded for Spurs ten minutes before the break.

"Son is having a fantastic season, the best season since he arrived", he said. It's a club with a culture to do everything to try to help the team.
