No. 2 Michigan State 63, Wisconsin 60: The Big Ten tournament didn't get off to a great start for Tom Izzo and No. 2 Michigan State.
They also might have broken the clicker used to record mistakes on defensive switches.
The Big Ten tournament title game takes place Sunday at 4:30 p.m. ET.
In the best way possible, MI avenged an embarrassing 20 point loss they suffered at the hands of Nebraska earlier this season. MI slipped to 22-9 on the season.
Rutgers had been the surprise team in this tourney. Abdur-Rahkman and sophomore guard Zavier Simpson then converted layups to give MI a seven-point lead with 7:16 to play.
When it comes to the Big Ten Tournament, all MI does is win.

Nebraska cut the deficit to eight, but MI stranded them in their isolation offense with no counters to the defense they were seeing. Senior guard Katelynn Flaherty added 17.
Nebraska: Selection Sunday is more than a week away with the Big Ten playing its tournament earlier than usual to get it into the Garden. Robinson added 13 points off the bench and Charles Matthews had 12. Among the players that will not be returning is four-year shooting guard Robert Johnson, who finished with 12 points and three rebounds in potentially his final game in pinstripes. Behemoth center Isaac Haas gave MI trouble in both games, scoring 17 points in January and 24 in February.
Two minutes after Calderone's second goal, Wisconsin defenseman Tim Davison was hit with an interference penalty. MSU's Miles Bridges hit a 26-footer with a hand in his face at the shot clock buzzer, making it 14-9, and that seemed to ignite the Spartans.
Josh Reaves made two free throws with 48 seconds left and put Penn State ahead by a point on a slam dunk with five seconds left to lead the Nittany Lions to the upset win over 13th-ranked Ohio State. They had 10 games in which they committed 17 turnovers although they got better in that area as the season progressed.
Northern Illinois 66, Ball State 65: Levi Bradley scored 18 points with a career-high 17 rebounds and Eugene German's jump shot with 16 seconds left sent Northern Illinois past Ball State at the Convocation Center.
An alley-oop to Roby on the opening possession of the second half got Nebraska back within single digits, and a free throw by Palmer pulled the Huskers within 40-33 with 14 minutes to play. The Huskers never relinquished the lead again.
"It's a rivalry game, even though it's postseason you want to come out and have a sense of urgency and be ready for a fight", MI guard Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman said after the 15th-ranked Wolverines eliminated the fourth-seeded Cornhuskers 77-58 on Friday.
Rutgers proceeded to live down to the expectations in four seasons in the Big Ten, bottoming out in both football and basketball and dealing with embarrassing scandals.
The Spartans struggled to find a rhythm on offense in the first half.
Cassius Winston had 11 points on 3-of-10 shooting. Two layups from MI, including a nifty finish from Simpson, pushed the advantage to 54-47 when the media timeout hit at the 7:10 mark.
The Wolverines made it 57-49 heading down the stretch on two Robinson free throws at 5:21 and pushed it to eight on two Wagner free throws, but McQuaid's big triple from the corner cut it back to five.
