Samsung launches S9 and S9+ smartphones, focuses on camera improvements

The unlocked Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ is available for pre-order on March 2 from Samsung directly. The device falls in line with the most recent leaks, sporting a powerful collection of features created to woo buyers around the world. The S9 has a 5.8-inch screen while the S9+ has a 6.2-inch display.

Intelligent Scan also gets a mention in the video, which had earlier leaked to suggest an improved biometric authentication on the Galaxy S9 duo.

Update: Both the S9 and the S9+ are water proof.

Other items of note include stereo speakers that have been tuned by AKG and support for Dolby Atmos 360-degree surround sound.

As part of the announcement, Samsung demonstrated its own take on Apple's Animoji - AR Emoji -which turns selfies into personalised emoji which can be shared in messages.
