CBS Miami reports that one Pulse survivor, echoing what many others feel, told the students: "Y'all got this".

He said the video showed Peterson take up a position outside the building, but "he never went in".

"They're trained, they didn't react properly under pressure or they were a coward", Trump said, calling out the school resource officer Scot Peterson by name.

When asked what Peterson was seen doing on the video, Israel said, "Nothing".

And he said the revelation of the deputy's inaction was further vindication for his proposal to arm teachers who - unlike law enforcement - know their schools and "love their students". Sick to my stomach. Sheriff Israel said he had not given a reason for why he did not go into the building where the shooter was.

Students said they plan on holding another walk-out on March 14 at 10 a.m. We lost coaches. I've been to the funerals. I've been to the vigils.

Trump continued to criticize Peterson while speaking later Friday at the Conservative Political Action Conference.

Students around the country are turning last week's heartbreaking school shooting in Parkland, Florida, into an inspiring and exemplary push for legislative change.

Peterson was placed on restricted administrative assignment and surrendered his BSO identification card and weapons Thursday. "But he certainly did a poor job, there's no question about that".

Gov. Scott also said he wants to require all individuals purchasing firearms to be 21 or older, with exceptions for active and reserve military and their spouses, National Guard members and law enforcement.

"That could have been one of my friends, that could have been my school, that could have been me", Silverado High School sophomore Leila Barrillos said.

Two other deputies are on restricted duty during an internal review of whether they did enough after receiving warnings about shooting suspect Nikolas Cruz.

Their restricted assignments come as the bureau found it responded to 23 calls regarding Cruz or his brother since 2008.
