Divisional Playoff Preview: Jaguars at Steelers

Steelers are 35-25. Jacksonville dominated regular-season visit to Pittsburgh, picking off five Ben Roethlisberger passes, including pair of second-half pickp6s that turned 9-7 deficit into 20-9 lead.

Last week the Jaguars won their first playoff game since defeating Pittsburgh at Heinz Field in 2007. The Steelers safety told SI.com's Greg Bishop that, "We're going to play [the Patriots] again". His abilities in coverage also stood out Week 5 despite the Steelers losing.

Then Roethlisberger had answer questions about Sunday's game being his last game at Heinz Field, due to his comments after the 30-9 loss to Jacksonville in week five.

Le'Veon Bell had just 15 carries for 47 yards and James Conner - with three attempts for just nine - was the only other running back with any rush attempts. We can play them in hell, we can play them in Haiti, we can play them in New England. Nobody gave us a chance.

"We didn't have our A-game. We realise that health is a blessing in this game, but when we lack it we're not going to allow it to be an excuse". "We want to be balanced". He followed it up by spending the better part of the next 10 weeks playing like it.

"You have to treat every game like it could be your last because you never know when it is", Roethlisberger said this week when he met with reporters.

Still, there is this interesting contrast: Roethlisberger has a big edge over Jacksonville quarterback Blake Bortles when it comes to playoff experience. They are, by far, the more experienced side: 14 Patriots players have played at least 10 playoff games. In his first, Bortles passed for only 87 yards in last week' 10-3 win over Buffalo. A lot of outside factors that could have been divisive in some way for our group, but I take my hat off to the guys. It's a little bit faster each game. You've got a shot to win any game. "So hopefully we can use that experience to my advantage".

Those aren't eye-popping numbers by any stretch of the imagination, but in a Steeler offense that has spread the ball around a lot without Antonio Brown in the lineup, Bryant has made his targets count more and more. "We saw an example of that obviously earlier in the season with Ryan [Shazier, the Steelers linebacker who suffered a spinal cord injury during a game in early December]".

If anyone is built to stop the Steelers' offense in the AFC, it is the Jaguars. The Jaguars ranked first stopping the pass, but 21st against the run. Jaguars rookie RB Leonard Fournette ran for season-high 181 yards and two scores vs. Steelers in October. It will be up to Williams and the middle of the Steelers defense to make sure Fournette is less effective in the rematch. "We're going to win". Steelers seeking second straight AFC title game appearance.

-New England Patriots wide receiver Chris Hogan, a star of the team's Super Bowl run last season, was cleared to return for the divisional playoff game Saturday night against the Tennessee Titans.

I haven't done the necessary legwork, but it's safe to assume that nobody in this life (or the next life) loves anything more than The Good Place's Jason Mendoza (Manny Jacinto) loves Blake Bortles and the Jacksonville Jaguars. But- but it's not- he had four 300 yard plus passing game.

Fournette was one of eight National Football League players to surpass 1,000 yards from scrimmage (1,342) and score 10 touchdowns in 2017.
