Atlanta Falcons: Three Things to Watch against the Philadelphia Eagles

He was good. He was bad.

The Eagles' faithful have seen this before too many times. He's only the 13thquarterback in National Football League history to complete 77 percent of his passes with no interceptions in a playoff game (with 20 or more attempts).

Whtether they were hitting Matt Ryan, getting in Devonta Freeman's face or tipping passes meant for the Falcons many talented pass-catchers, stoud defense looked nearly looked routine for the first 57 minutes of the game, but with the Falcons at midfield, trailing by less than a touchdown a reviewed incomplete pass at midfield set up a momentous fourth-and-six for Atlanta.

With Nick Foles engineering several long drives, Jake Elliott converting three field goals, and the defense getting stingy in the tightest spot, Philadelphia moved into the NFC Championship Game with a 15-10 victory over the Falcons on Saturday.

By the end of the day, we will know two of the final four teams that will be left to fight for a chance to participate in Super Bowl 52 in Minneapolis.

"Foles will try to join Tommy Thompson in the 1940s, Ron Jaworski and Donovan McNabb as only the fourth quarterback in franchise history with more than one postseason win when the Eagles host the NFC Championship Game next Sunday against the victor of the Saints-Vikings game this Sunday".

They stopped the Atlanta Falcons on fourth and goal from the two-ayrd line to hang on for a 15-10 victory at Lincoln Financial Field.

The Eagles are flying for another week. They could very well do the opposite and make Foles the focal point of the office.

Expectations for Philadelphia plummeted after Carson Wentz tore his ACL in Week 14. He's certainly a dropoff from Wentz, but he's also capable of spectacular performances. It was the template of what the Eagles needed to do to win. Eagles coach Doug Pederson said this week he told him to "just be Nick". I don't think Foles has any of those three right now with Jeffery.

In the season finale, Foles's passer rating was 9.3 in a shutout loss to the Cowboys In the Week 16 win against Oakland, it was 59.4.

Foles was 23 of 30 for 246 yards.

The game is going to be played on wet grass, and that's going to heavily favor the Eagles and hurt the Falcons who are accustomed to playing on the fast track that is turf.

Matt Ryan was outplayed by Nick Foles. The Eagles last made the Super Bowl in the 2004 season, losing to New England.

"I'm going to be thinking about this all offseason", Cooper said. Foles misfired fairly often, overthrowing open targets, and even a handful of his completions were poorly located passes that required his receivers to make good or great catches. LeGarrette Blount would run for a score on the next play to put the Eagles on the board 6-3. Quarterback Blake Bortles had more rushing yards than passing yards against the Bills, and the Jaguars again will rely on their running game and defense in wintry weather at Heinz Field. Foles, on the other hand, was 2-for-3 in the first quarter for 19 yards.

Despite how handily the Falcons topped the No. 3 seed Los Angeles Rams last week, one thing that plagued them all game was pressure on Matt Ryan. Ryan's best pass may have been an improvisational throw as the Falcons capitalized on an Eagles turnover to take a 10-6 lead in the second quarter.
