Alabama Football: Tua Tagovailoa must start in 2018

It is always a collective group of plays that go into whether a team comes away with a win or not. They are kings of the college football hill, and what the nation saw Monday night isn't about to change soon.

Don't put too much stock in Saban saying he wasn't going to coach forever, because with talented freshmen like that he's going to be around awhile.

"The resiliency of this team to come through in the second half ..."

As usual, Saban sounded ready to get back to the business of pursuing another. But the eventual result was the same: Georgia loses the game and the national title.

Tagovailoa responded by completing 14-of-24 passes for 166 yards and three touchdowns, including the 41-yard game winner to freshman Devonta Smith in overtime. The winning play was, basically, four receivers going deep. He pulled Hurts in favor of freshman quarterback Tua Tagovailoa in the hope that the youngster from Miami would give the Tide offense a lift and help get them back in the game. I had to do this for my Dad. Former Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin said Tuesday morning in an interview with The Dan Patrick Show that if Tagovailoa didn't play in the national championship game, he would've transferred. Four major outlets-CBS, ESPN, Sports Illustrated, and USA TODAY-have released their way-too-early Top 25 rankings.

You've had at least a day to process what you never expected to see.

Here's what he is predicting.

. Staring down from the 340-foot perch above the playing field in ultra-high definition was the trademark glare of head coach Nick Saban. The top tackler was a sophomore.

Let's start with the first piece of evidence.

Apparently the game-winning touchdown in Monday night's college football national championship between Alabama and Georgia was called "Seattle". However, no flag was thrown.

But Alabama couldn't capitalize. "We won in the last second this time, and we lost in the last second last year". According to Bovada, Ohio State has 8-to-1 odds to win it all, only behind Alabama (5-to-2) and Clemson (6-to-1), while tied with Georgia.

Saban went into the locker room and made a big move. As you can see, using bowls as a bellwether can be a bit muddled, but all things considered, both of those conferences came out of bowl season with some momentum.

The Orlando Sentinel's Mike Bianchi presented the UCF Knights with a national championship trophy during a block party on Church Street in Orlando Monday night. Blankenship proved to be a valuable weapon while Alabama needed to make up for Pappanastos' misses. A small blue ribbon panel elected the Crimson Tide to make the College Football Playoff as a No. 4 seed. It's a testament to the relentless machine Saban has built.

Chaucer once said "All good things come to an end", but with this Bama dynasty, I'm starting to wonder.

"[It shows] he's doing one hell of a job and he's getting it done", Fisher said of Saban's latest national title win.

Tagovailoa on being so far from Hawaii and being homesick...

It has been said that to everything there is a season and a time to every purpose.
