The new Acer Spin 3 (SP314-51) has a durable 360-degree rotating screen, letting users view content in different modes such as laptop mode, tent mode, tablet mode or display mode.

Left without a contender, Acer chose to take things a step further and outdo themselves. It measures only 0.39 inches (9.99mm) thin and weighs only 1.18 kg (2.6 lbs.) with the keyboard detached. The Swift 7 is an always-connected PC running Windows 10 and is as thin as 8.98 mm. The convertible laptop goes on sale in February with starting prices of $599 (or approx Rs 37,995). Lastly, the display, which is a 1080p IPS affair, has been bumped up to 14 inches. Rather disappointingly the laptop has a seventh-generation Kaby Lake Core i7 processor rather than the new Coffee Lake chips, not that the older chips are particular slouches when it comes to performance. There's 8GB of RAM and 256GB of PCIe SSD.

Acer has also updated the Spin 3 which is getting eight-generation Intel Core processors (unlike the Sift 7). Is it worth it?

You will have to wait a bit to get your hands on the Acer Swift 7. Despite the prevalence of the high-speed network in many countries, LTE connectivity is still a rare feature among laptops, which only usually include Wi-Fi connectivity. Acer Swift 7 includes a Nano SIM slot as well as eSIM technology.

This laptop has unibody aluminum chasis which gives it a sophisticated look. That said, I think if there was one thing I'm sure everyone won't like, it's the price.

Another part of the Swift 7 that has changed is its price. This new version, however, will retail for USD1,699 (around RM6,783). Though it runs on a powerful processor, it is bit of a letdown considering the fact that Intel's 8th gen chipsets have been out for a while and have been used in the new Dell XPS 13. Acer hasn't revealed the full specifications of the Spin 3.

Acer has chosen to use AMD's Radeon RX560 GPU as the basis for its new gaming laptop and it also comes equipped with the latest AMD Ryzen mobile processor. RAM and SSD storage are configurable up to 32GB and 512GB, respectively, with a 15.6-inch 1080p panel rounding out the computer.

The Nitro 5's chassis features a top cover with elegant laser texturing that brings bold refinement to the gaming laptop.
