OnePlus has unveiled its new 5T smartphone. Thanks to Apple this has now become a selling point for phones, and thankfully there is one with the OnePlus 5T. The smartphone features a fully anodized aluminum metal unibody build. The new OnePlus 5T features a rear-facing fingerprint sensor along with on-screen navigation buttons. The screen ratio has also been switch to 18:9 from 16:9. The display is optic AMOLED with screen resolution of 1080×1920 pixels. Since OnePlus 5T serves kind of all the advanced technology features, the founder himself founds some space of improvements to the existing features on the successor and OnePlus 5T brings all of them. On top, there's a protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 5, reports GizmoChina. The smartphone comes with some noticeable incremental updates over OnePlus 5 and it bears the same price tag of Rs 32,999 for the 6GB RAM variant and Rs 37,999 for the 8GB RAM variant.
While the iPhone X runs on Apple's new iOS 11, the OnePlus 5T misses out as it does not pack in the latest version of Android, leaving it stuck on Oxygen OS based on Android 7.1. It comes in 64GB/128GB in-built storage options, which can not be expanded. While it features the 20MP + 16MP dual lens set up as its predecessor, the 5T's secondary camera comes equipped with a larger f/1.7 aperture which should make for improved low-light photography. On the OnePlus 5T, the secondary lens has an upgraded sensor from before and the aperture on both lenses is now a wide f1.7.
The new camera can now take better low-light images. "We are looking to make it better via a software update in the near future", said Kiang.
OnePlus 5T also has its own facial recognition ability.
It also boasts Dash Charge, which was first introduced with the OnePlus 3, and offers "enough power for the day" from a 30-minute charge. Nevertheless, OnePlus has addressed a number of other pre-existing problems, including "fixes for extended screenshot in some applications, Bluetooth performance enhancements, camera gesture fixes, and memory optimizations". OnePlus has hit its competitors hard, again, with the pricing. If you want to get the 128GB model, the price rises to £499. The profile of the rounded corners and rear-panel curves is near-identical to the old phone, and OnePlus has even shaped and placed the plastic antenna bands in exactly the same way.
The OnePlus 5T offers a smooth experience through a combination of powerful hardware and intelligent software that works seamlessly together.
The OnePlus 5T will be available for purchase on Amazon, oneplusstore.in and OnePlus Experience store in Bengaluru on November 21, in an early access sale.
So, the crucial question? While we're yet to benchmark the smartphone, it's unlikely many will have complaints when it comes to performance. The 5T has the exact same internals, right down to the battery capacity.
