NC State Fans Chant 'FBI' While Defeating Louisville

Obviously N.C. State fans are referring to the FBI investigation into Louisville's basketball team and Adidas, which led to the firing of basketball coach Rick Pitino and athletic director Tom Jurich. That was the Wolfpack's first turnover since the opener.

NC State has won four straight games after losing their opener to SC.

"I told our team it was coming, told y'all it was coming - some of you believed me, some of you didn't", Doeren said. "It's going to be a great game".

Louisville's Lamar Jackson has broken another ACC record in his distinguished career.

It's a match-up that could be a preview of things to come at the next level.

"The sky is the limit for this team", Chubb said. "He's competitive, spirited. Super talented, and he's the most competitive guy on the field at times". "We can't let him out of the pocket, " Chubb said. That said, State's defense managed to make Jackson's time at Carter-Finley horrendous.

On the other side, Wolfpack quarterback Ryan Finley had a fantastic performance, throwing for 367 yards and a touchdown.

Jackson did his part, but in the end it wasn't enough to get the job done. Can you get him down? That game has been circled since July as one that could impact the playoff picture because it's a tough spot for Clemson, but now it's looking like a Sweet 16 matchup and a play-in to the ACC Championship Game, which could be a play-in to the College Football Playoff.

We certainly should not get too far ahead of ourselves in forecasting the rest of the season for NC State, but the Wolfpack already have victories against both Louisville and Florida State.

The Pack's defense had a big night as well.

The media notes don't mention any games where State had three players get 100 receiving yards, but the team came one yard short on Thursday, as Louis finished with 99.

The fourth quarter had a lot of different momentum swings. "It speaks to the maturity of our guys and the number of veterans we have on our team".

"We're definitely in rhythm right now, and hopefully, we can continue it", Finley said.

"We've just got to understand where we're at on the field and where we're at on the offensive tackle".

Finley is certainly in a good place. However, on the second play, Germaine Pratt returned an interception 25 yards for a touchdown.

"We try not to talk about previous year", center Garrett Bradbury said. Jackson has 682 yards total offense and seven combined touchdowns in just five quarters the past two weeks.

"Getting off to a fast start is definitely important in this game", Finley said.

The Wolfpack took down Louisville, and the fans had some fun while it happened. N.C. State is now 5-1, 3-0 in the conference with wins over U of L and Florida State, with a home game against co-leader in the Atlantic Division of the conference, #2 Clemson coming up on November 4th.

On Thursday night, however, in a raucous Carter-Finley Stadium, the game manager outplayed the Heisman trophy victor on the other side, on national TV. State owns a 4-3 record in such contests.

Heavy's Pick: Louisville 38 NC State 31.
