Based on the Odds Shark website's collected odds, the Wolverines are -11 favorites to win on the point spread, or anywhere from -420 to -450 favorites on the moneyline. This is not the same team we saw a year ago. Not bad at all for Mark Dantonio, to say the least.

MI pulled within 14-10 on Khalid Hill's 1-yard touchdown run midway through the third quarter, but got no closer. This isn't as big as the controversial first down spot from last year's Michigan-Ohio State game, but Wolverine fans will surely be talking about this as one of the reasons UM lost.

Of his team's offensive performance, Harbaugh said, "There's just not enough good things".

While those pieces are nice, Michigan State needs to stay healthy to have a chance in the Big Ten East. Depth was a major concern heading into the season, and the high number of unproven Spartans playing well at the moment could drop off at any moment. "John's done a fantastic job ever since he got here", Harbaugh said.

The Wolverines recorded a 28-10 win over Purdue last week. In fact, the Wolverines didn't allow their first first down in the second half until late in the fourth quarter. MSU carried that 14-3 lead into halftime.

After trading punts on the next three possessions, the Spartans began at their own 17 and and used a balanced offense of run and pass to march 83 yards in nine plays, ending with a delayed screen pass to Madre London, who rumbled 16 yards for a 14-3 Michigan State lead.

The Spartans didn't have a first down in the second half until their final drive of the game, a possession that started with 2:13 and ended with a punt from the MI 47 that went through the end zone with 34 seconds left.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Malik Rosier threw a 23-yard touchdown pass to Darrell Langham with 6 seconds remaining and No. 13 Miami beat Florida State to end a seven-game losing streak in the series. That gave the Spartans 12 for this season, one more than last year's total.

Brian Lewerke is Michigan State's leading rusher and his dual-threat capabilities will have to be accounted for with disciplined football. "We left we needed to show support". Starting quarterback Wilton Speight hasn't played, and ESPN's Chris Fowler reported he has three fractured vertebrae and is likely out for the season. Since scoring 36 points against Cincinnati on September 9, MI has seen its point total decrease in each of its last three games and hit total of 67 during that span.

A big reason the Spartans couldn't convert those turnovers into points was the Wolverine defense. Without running back LJ Scott, who was dressed but did not have a helmet on the sideline or play, the Spartans rushed for 158 yards against the Wolverines' No. 1-ranked run defense. O'Korn was terrible, completing 15-of-34 passes for 180 yards. MI receiver Grant Perry led all receivers with five catches and 61 yards receiving.

MI (4-1, 1-1) could not overcome many mistakes, including five turnovers and several costly penalties.
