Iheanacho has recovered from a toe injury to be in contention for the Premier League's curtain-raiser at Arsenal on Friday night and Shakespeare has been impressed in training.

The 29-year-old, who has been a stalwart for Barca in years gone by, made 55 appearances for the Catalan giants last season and continues to flourish in midfield with the likes of Iniesta and Rakitic.

"It looks like everywhere there is many, many players and a bit of congestion at the moment everywhere", Wenger said.

Jurgen Klopp has rated Manchester City as clear title favourites on the eve of the new Premier League season.

"Alexis will not be available for example, so I can not go into the game with too many uncertainties", Wenger said.

Leicester have a tough start, with Arsenal, United, Chelsea and Liverpool among their first six opponents, while promoted Brighton and Huddersfield have more reason to fear the end of the season.

A club record £58 million lured Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata from the European champions, while Tiemoue Bakayoko and Antonio Rudiger also joined Chelsea, whose spending climbed over £130 million.

But after a close-season in which both managers have invested heavily in new players, United are now Mourinho's team and City have been created by Guardiola.

"They'll be good enough in the league, don't get me wrong, but I think they might focus on Europe".

With a reported release clause of €200m, however, Manchester City may struggle to prize the experienced midfielder away from the Nou Camp.

Success will be largely dependent on whether Tottenham can replicate its home form from last season - winning 17 of 19 Premier League games and drawing the other two.

"We know it's going to be a special day because it's the first Premier League game at the Amex, and the first Premier League game for the club". But such was the maturity he showed during his first-team opportunities - notably in a 1-1 draw at Manchester United in January - that regular starter Nathaniel Clyne could soon be under pressure for his place. "Not subordinate and then on the specific days [against the league's best teams] we have to be there and try to beat them, but also try to get as many points as possible out of the other matches".

Chelsea could move for Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose after the player admitted he would consider leaving the club to enhance his career. Sky is offering 124 live Premier League games this season. Former Everton striker, now with Manchester United finished second on 25 goals while Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez scored 24 to hold the third position.

"And the rather perverse thing with having these buyout clauses is they are meant to prevent players moving".
