Another issue not likely to have much effect on us is tropical systems. A river of moisture is helping the showers develop further into stronger thunderstorms, yet the threat of severe weather is still very low.

Storms will come to an end around sunset with lows tonight again in the upper 70s. Saturday will also be warmer and a bit humid with a high of 89.

Next week looks to be more of the same with highs in the 80s and a couple showers and storms possible each day. Mostly cloudy with a low around 71.

Sunday, the upper level trough responsible for these daily rain chances finally manages to work its way off to the east.

"There will be multiple periods of heavy rain over the next nine days", Smith said in an e-mail about what's expected in the upcoming weather.

Thursday Night.Mostly cloudy. Small rain chance. We will be dealing with an "ocean of humidity" all three days, and a passing shower or storm will be possible at just about any hour of the day or night.

Right now, the second half of the weekend is looking fantastic!

Sunday Morning Lows: Low 60s Afternoon Highs: Low 70s Cloud cover: A mix of sun and clouds. And for what it's worth, longer range computer models try to bring more rain chances our direction by next Wednesday and Thursday too. Otherwise, expect mostly cloudy skies with a high of 76.

Temperatures at the beaches this weekend should reach highs in the mid to high 80s, and water temperatures should be in the mid 80s.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy skies and mild temperatures continue with an overnight low temperature of 67 degrees.
