Monday - Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 11am. Showers could move in late day and will pick up tonight. Temperatures are going to be sticking in the lower 80's with winds out of the east and mostly cloudy skies. High temperatures will stay below average in the 70s.

Tuesday should start out cloudy but partly cloudy skies are expected for Tuesday afternoon. Ridge of high pressure will control the weather today, but with daytime heating there will be scattered showers and storms, mainly west of I-95.

But things will change in Greater Boston, starting around 5 p.m. when a moisture-laden weather pattern arrives, bringing first showers and then, possibly, heavy rains.

These will mostly be the highs and lows for the week, too.

Tomorrow: Partly to mostly cloudy.

Extended: Unusually cool on Monday with high temperatures only in the 60s and 70s for the plains, some 50s over the mountains.

Wednesday Night.Mostly cloudy. Shower/storm chance lingers. Latest model blends show the front approaching the area Saturday morning, before lifting back north as a warm front Sunday morning. This may lower our potential for flooding and heavy rainfall.

Saturday. Partly sunny. Afternoon shower/storm chance. South wind 5 to 7 miles per hour.

Mostly cloudy skies and spotty rain showers develop, with a low of 62 degrees.

Sunday should be more about the heat than the rain.

The showers will likely continue until early Tuesday morning. Mostly cloudy; high of 81.

Thursday: Mostly sunny - high near 85.
