Mumbai Prepares For Festivities With Ganesh Chaturthi Starting Today

Ganesh Chaturthi is believed to mark the birth anniversary of the deity and is celebrated on the fourth day (chaturthi) of the Hindu calendar month of Bhadrapada. After the pandal is thrown open to devotees, the aarti is scheduled to take place at 12:30 PM, by mandal's president Sudam Kamble.
