Alexandria Police Department is investigating a "multiple shooting" involving members of Congress Wednesday morning, according to a CBS News Special Report.
Rep. Steve Scalise, Louisiana Republican, was the lawmaker shot, according to news reports.
Police confirmed a "multiple shooting" at playing fields in Alexandria, Virginia at around 7.30am today. Witnesses saw a helicopter come in to take at least one of the victims away.
Initial reports say that two law enforcement officers were also shot. A bystander reportedly used a belt as tourniquet on Mr. Scalise.
The Congressional baseball game is an annual tradition pitting members of the Democratic and Republican parties against each other.
White House press secretary Sean Spicer tweeted that President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence were aware of the situation, and "Our thoughts and prayers are with all affected".
