Manchester United have agreed an undisclosed fee for Benfica's Swedish global defender Victor Lindelof, the Premier League club announced on Saturday.

"If we buy a player we buy a player, we're not buying two, three or four", he told Sky Sports News right before Christmas; transcript Daily Mirror, who claim that player will be Benfica Defender Victor Lindelof.

According to Metro, via Record, the 22-year-old is on the cusp of an Old Trafford move following United's agreement with the Primeira Liga holders.

The Times reports Vasteras, which plays in the Swedish third tier, will receive £3 million should the transfer be completed due to a sell-on clause agreed with Benfica.

"Yet Keane has played a season exceptionally well in the Premier League, but we're talking £25m".

The Sweden global will become Mourinho's first arrival of the window as the Portuguese works to strengthen his squad ahead of the new Premier League season.

Lindelof, 22, is a Sweden worldwide who has played 12 times for his country, scoring once.

Now, former Chelsea coach Wilkins has expressed his dismay at Manchester United turning to Lindelof rather than signing a proven Premier League talent in the form of Keane.

After three years he moved up to the A team and has not looked back since, winning three Portuguese league titles, playing in the Champions League and making his worldwide debut against Turkey in March 2016.

With Eric Bailly showing great promise as last season wore on, Manchester United might have one of the brightest young center back pairings in the league next season.

But while the talents of Fabinho, Perisic and Morata are evident following their performances at the highest level or in the Champions League, Lindelof is still fairly an unknown quantity.
