Veteran AC Milan midfielder Riccardo Montolivo returned to the Italy squad after recovering from a knee surgery, as head coach Gian Piero Ventura on Saturday named 26 footballers who will face Uruguay in a friendly and Liechtenstein in a World Cup qualifier in June.

Giampiero Ventura named his squad for the two games, as they face Uruguay on June 7 in a friendly in Nice and host Liechtenstein at the Dacia Arena in Udine for a World Cup qualifier on June 11.

The 32-year-old, who picked up a right knee injury against Spain in a World Cup qualifier on October 6, has recently returned to the Milan squad.

The Juventus players will only join up with the rest of the Italy squad from Monday June 5, after the Champions League Final against Real Madrid on June 3.

Italy are level on points with Spain atop Group G of qualifying but sit second due to goal difference. Liechtenstein is last in the group with five losses in five matches.
